Day 5: Monday 4th May 2026.
Ardfern to Oban
Duration 4 hours : Wildlife seen - porpoises and seabirds galore.
Awoke to fair, but chilly winds, and after a hearty lunch we set off for Oban....
The Captain was happy, as he got a good bit of sailing in, before the winds dropped and in what seemed like very little time, we motored into Oban Marina and tied up on the pontoons.
A wee bag packed, we strode out past Dunollie Castle - the ancestral home of the Clan MacDougall...
in search of a bed for the night (or two!)... and thankfully found a nice pair of willing locals that welcomed us in!
..and there we spent a very comfortable and happy night catching up on all the family news.
