Day 81: Thursday 30th July, 2026.
Golma Island to Ulsteinvik.
Duration: 13.5 hours
We had thought we would take a couple of passages to reach the end of our 2026 adventure...but the Weather Gods had different ideas, bringing us more winds on Friday which meant the open stretches of water we still had to navigate could be pretty unpleasant...so we decided a mega passage today would be the preferred option...
Away by 7.30am again, the first four hours were pretty open to the ocean swell, and the wind was against us so progress was slow...

...but the southerly winds meant that navigating the infamous narrow passageways through the skerries and low-lying islets of the Hustadvika was plain sailing...and we were then back in the sheltered waters of the inner leads...passing the bridges of the Atlantic Coast Road once more...

...and the lovely wee village of Bud...

...and then as the rain came in and we had dinner underway, we motored on past Alesund, and finally came round and into Ulsteinvik...
The rain was teaming down, but we found good space at the Quality Hotel's marina pontoon and after tying up we happily raised a glass to the end of our Norwegian adventure for this year...

A few more days here outside, and at, the Quality Inn to 'winterise' the boat,

..and then round to the boatyard on Monday for her lift out. A night in Alesund and then homeward bound next week which we are both very excited about!
