Kuringvagen to Golma Island

Duration: 12 hours

As forecast, Monday and Tuesday brought gale force gusts and wet weather...so we hunkered down and grabbed the odd walk in the gaps between showers.

Come Wednesday we were very ready to be on the move again, so got up early and were back heading south by 7.30am...leaving Kuringvagen under the bridge we had cycled over a few days before...and some welcome blue sky!

The conditions were calm and sunny to boot, so we decided to take advantage of the good weather and sea state and go for a longer passage than planned...The wind in the well-angled sails gave us a bit more speed and it was so nice to feel a bit of warmth on our skin from the sun...

So out into Linesfjord and beyond we went... happily passing more Trondelag turbines doing their thing...

... some familiar lighthouses...

but also, pleasingly, one I hadn't seen before...Terningen Fyr sitting proudly in the busy Trondheimsleia Strait...

...where speedy tankers squeezed past us, rocking us in their wake...

...and then the buzz from above as some fighter jets on manouveres ducked and dived before landing at Orland Military Airfield...

...12 hours in, and just short of Kristiansund, we pulled into a lovely wee sheltered harbour on Golma Island and dropped anchor.. to enjoy a late dinner and a rather nice night sky...
