Day 8: Thursday 7th May 2026.
Loch Corry, Morvern
After a lovely settled nights sleep...

..., and having decided yesterday to have a day exploring a bit more of the very well tended Kingairloch Estate, (as it was to be high gust winds all day.)...we went ashore, for a nice 9km hike along the shore of the Loch...

...and up the hill to a wee waterfall., with lovely views.

On our way back, we took a closer look at a recent stone-balancing sculpture by Adrian Gray (November 2024). Gray is a pioneer, and internationally acclaimed stone balancing artist. This sculpture is made of two locally sourced giant pieces of granite which are precariously balanced atop one another, and then secured at that point of balance for longevity and safety.

Gray 'believes that balance is intrinsic to nature, and by extension, our lives...and hopes that his work inspires the onlooker to reflect on balance - or imbalance - in our world today, particularly in the context of environmental sustainability' - which is one of the guiding principles of the Belgian owners of the estate, Baron and Baroness Hannecart.

Then back to the boat for lunch, and for a spot of prepping for tomorrows' entry into the Caladonian Canal ..with an evening treat of a very delicious meal at the Boathouse and hopefully another good nights sleep...
