Day 72 & 73, Tuesday 21st July & Wednesday 22nd July, 2026
Heroy; Heroy to Torghatten.
Duration: 6hrs 15mins
As predicted Tuesday was another windy, rainy day...so we had decided that it would be a day of domestic duties... and so laundry was done, and end of trip plans made and booked. The weather stopped us exploring Heroy sadly, but we appreciated the odd vista en route to the washing machine...

By Wednesday the winds had dropped, and the skies were brightening, so we fuelled up and headed out back into Alstahaughfjord, then Tjottafjord and Tilremfjord..passing through Bronnoysund (where our original bow thruster had finally died a month ago)...

...and then a familiar form came into view...a Trolls' hat island with its arrowhole ahead...

...a perfect place to stop and anchor...

...and have a wee explore ashore... A 10km loop from the small pontoon, up through the arrow hole...which took us along the road at first...

...and then up some beautifully crafted 1,100 sherpa steps...

...right up to, and through, the impressive legendary hole, which is 165m long, 35m high and 20m wide...

...with amazing coastal views beyond...

...and then the more sandy coastal walk...

back to the boat...

...for a hearty and warming curry dinner and a rather nice almost sunset sky...
