Day 57: Wednesday 24th June, 2026

Bodo

After a truly terrrible nights sleep thanks to a pair of middle-aged partying Norwegian motor boat neighbours, we blearily got up to see them still drinking and decided that a hotel looked rather appealing before we travel home tomorrow...so with hotel booked, and bags packed, we struck out into the lovely sunny day to go to an exhibition at the Nord Norsk Kunst Museum...

The exhibition was by an artist called Britta Marakatt-Labba, an artist that grew up in a reindeer herding family. Through her stitched and watercolour tapestry she pays tribute to the Sami holistic world view - humans, nature, animals, spiritual beings and the cosmos existing in equal parts in a network of relationships both in the past and the present...and it was really lovely...

Afterward we explored the city a wee bit more....

...and then checked in to our hotel with its fabulous views...

After dinner, we checked the boat one last time, as we head back to the UK in the morning for two weeks of catch ups with family and friends in London and at home before coming back out for more Norwegian adventuring....
