Days 64 and 65: Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th July, 2026
Henningsvaer
While most of Europe basks in another heatwave, we are in one of the only parts that is cooler than normal - but if you choose the Arctic Circle as your Summer destination that may not be surprising, and thankfully we have all our 'usual Scottish Summer Sailing clothes' and Henningsvaer is a nice place to be - even in high winds and rain with its offerings of nice cafes and daily yoga - which is what we chose to do...
An early 2 hour yoga flow class back at Trevarefabrikken, and then a lovely lunch at Kafe Knusarn...

... followed by an afternoon spent filling up the watertanks and planning our Southward legs back down the coast to Sulaire's winter berth... A light dinner aboard, and a good nights sleep.

Awoke to another grey and blustery day, so our planned departure for Nusfjord was put on hold, and we opted for a low lying hike to blow the cobwebs away instead. The 20km round trip took us along the main, mostly single track road that links Henningsvaer with the islands of Engoya and Austvagoy over bridges and causeways ...

...and then took us onto the old Drover's road at Rorvikskaret up to a misty view of its fresh water reservoir below...

...and then back down we went, the same way we had come ...

...and headed back to the boat for a quiet night aboard...
