Yoga and Kaviar....

Day 63: Sunday 12th July, 2026

After a late night and a disturbed sleep (due to a temperamental automatic bilge pump), we arose to a grey day. Thankful we had booked a slow flow yoga class that started late morning, we ambled along to Travarefabrikken's third floor where the football-watching space had been cleaned and transformed into a fantastic yoga space...and enjoyed a therapeutic and mindful hour and a half of yin yoga...

...Feeling nicely stretched and open, we had a lunch on the boat, and the Captain addressed the malfunctioning pump issue - and once this was done we headed out to the 'Kaviar Factory' ...

This former Cod's roe caviar factory was the first redundant industrial building in the area to be transformed into a gallery and modern art space by a couple from Oslo who bought and re-imagined the space on a whim back in 2010. The exhibition we saw was called 'Inside Out' and is inspired by the poem by Stein Mehren - one of Norway's finest philosophical poets - who argued human beings do not simply live in the world, but the world lives through us...

WITH THE INSIDE OUT

I hold your head...

the globe is lifted through the space of globes

Like we both are held by something and lifted

where enigma holds enigma in its hand

...the collection of 51 works are all portraits, and ask the viewer to contemplate identity - inner and outer; connections to ourselves , to others and nature around us,

as well as to the geopolitical world we live in... perfectly depicted in the Iranian portrait of mother (on the right) and daughter (on the left)..

With minds and bodies expanded we made our way back to the boat for a nice dinner aboard and an early night....
