Day 10 & 11 : Saturday 9th May Caledonian Canal - Banavie top basin to Laggan Locks; Duration - 4 hours A predominantly cold but sunny day to gently motor from Banavie to Laggan Locks. Caledonian Canal leg begins....
Day 9: 8th May 2026. Loch Corry to Corpach Sea Basin, Fort William and Banavie Jetty, Caledonian Canal Duration 3 hours + 5 hours : Wildlife seen - some crazy Lock surfing ducks An earlyish getaway, and then a 3 hour motor, which gave the Captain time to get his fender board in order.... before our arrival at Corpach Sea Lock, Fort William.... ...and the start of our Caledonian Canal caper.... Hikes and sights.....
Day 8: Thursday 7th May 2026. Loch Corry, Morvern After a lovely settled nights sleep... ..., and having decided yesterday to have a day exploring a bit more of the very well tended Kingairloch Estate, (as it was to be high gust winds all day.)...we went ashore, for a nice 9km hike along the shore of the Loch... ...and up the hill to a wee waterfall., with lovely views. Family time and a new mooring..
Day 6 & 7: Tues 5th/Wed 6th May 2026. Another night in Oban; Oban to Loch Corry, Morvern Duration: 2 hours; Wildlife seen - grey seal; red deer, wild goats, distant eagle, 2 porpoises. Spent a lovely day at La Cala, catching up with Granny and Grandpa. The Captain was also able to make the most of the day ashore, and service the troublesome bow thruster thoroughly. At days' end, another beautiful sunset for our last night ashore.... which just got better .... ....and better!

Familiar Waters.....
Day 5: Monday 4th May 2026. Ardfern to Oban Duration 4 hours : Wildlife seen - porpoises and seabirds galore. Awoke to fair, but chilly winds, and after a hearty lunch we set off for Oban.... The Captain was happy, as he got a good bit of sailing in, before the winds dropped and in what seemed like very little time, we motored into Oban Marina and tied up on the pontoons. Caves, cairns and chapels
Day 4: Sunday 3rd May 2026. A special encounter
Day 3 : Saturday 2nd May 2026 Sanda Island to Twin Beach, Gigha Duration 4.5 hours : Wildlife seen - Minke Whale! Grey seals and lots of seabirds (guillimots, razorbills, gannets and shags) A sunnier day than expected, as we headed away from Sanda Island with a fixed bow thruster (a good few thwacks of a hammer seemed to do the trick!) and happy hearts... Day two and not so blue....
Day 2: Friday 1st May 2026 Lochranza, Arran to Sanda Island - Duration: 4.5 hours Wildlife seen: Shag, Wild Red Deer, lots of seabirds Woke early to another nice day , but as the day progressed the cloud and the cool built up to more familiar Scottish Summer sailing conditions. Breakfast and 'bow thruster' investigations, followed by a trip ashore to purchase some excellent sandwiches from the ferry pier... ..and a walk to the Arran Distillery to stock up on 'essentials'.

Perfect Conditions to begin the Nordic Adventure.
Day 1: Thursday 30th April 2026 Inverkip to Lochranza, Arran Duration 4 hours Wildlife seen - 2 porpoises, heron A leisurely departure for Sulaire, in the Midday sun, after fueling up and filling up the watertanks.
